Drizzlelemons Is Now an App
June 2026
From day one, people have asked us the same question: "Is there an app?" As of today, the answer is yes — and it doesn't live in an app store. You can now install Drizzlelemons straight from your browser on iPhone, Android, and desktop. It gets its own home-screen icon, opens full-screen with no browser chrome, and — the part we're most excited about — your saved recipes and Cook Mode work offline.
No download from a store. No update nagging. No new account. It's the same Drizzlelemons, with the same recipes and the same sign-in — installed in two taps. Here's what you get and how to set it up.
What you get when you install
- Your recipes, offline. Every recipe you've opened is readable without a connection — ingredients, steps, the lot.
- Cook Mode, offline. Full-screen step-by-step cooking with timers and the screen-awake lock, even when the kitchen WiFi drops.
- Your shopping list at the store. The merged grocery list works fully offline — check items off in the aisle with zero bars.
- Share straight into the app (Android). Found a recipe in your browser? Tap Share → Drizzlelemons and it lands in the converter with the URL already filled in. No more copy-paste.
- Full-screen, app-like feel. No address bar, no tabs — just your recipes, with a proper icon on your home screen.
- Always up to date. New versions arrive automatically — when one is ready mid-session, a small toast offers a one-tap reload. No app store updates, ever.
How to install on iPhone
- Open drizzlelemons.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button in the toolbar.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
That's it — the lemon lands on your home screen and opens full-screen from now on. (In the app, the menu also has an Install app entry that walks you through these steps.)
How to install on Android
- Open drizzlelemons.com in Chrome.
- Tap Install app in the Drizzlelemons menu — or use Chrome's own menu → Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm, and you're done.
Android also unlocks the share shortcut: once installed, Drizzlelemons appears in your system share sheet. Share any recipe page from any app and it arrives in the converter, ready to go. Long-press the icon and you'll find quick shortcuts to My Recipes and your Shopping List too.
On desktop, too
In Chrome or Edge on a computer, look for the install icon at the right end of the address bar. Drizzlelemons opens in its own window — handy as a dedicated recipe screen while you cook with a laptop on the counter.
Why offline matters in a kitchen
Kitchens are where WiFi goes to die — and the moment a recipe page fails to reload with flour on your hands is the moment we built this for. Once you've opened a recipe, it's on your device: Cook Mode steps through it, timers run, and the screen stays awake, connection or not. The same goes for the grocery store basement with one bar: your shopping list is fully usable offline.
To be precise about it: reading works offline — saved recipes, Cook Mode, the shopping list. Converting a new recipe or saving changes still needs a connection (the app tells you clearly when you're offline, and nothing fails silently).
Why there's no app store version
We chose to build this as an installable web app deliberately. App stores mean delayed releases, forced update cycles, and a 30% cut that would eventually find its way into pricing. The web version is the app: one codebase, instant updates for everyone, and your recipe collection never locked inside a platform. You keep the ad-free recipes, serving scaling, unit conversion, meal planning, and versioning — installed or not.
And to be clear: installing is free, works with your existing account, and changes nothing about how Drizzlelemons works in a regular browser tab. It's the same product — just closer to hand, and tougher to knock offline.
Try it tonight
- Paste a recipe URL into the recipe converter and save it.
- Install the app — two taps, instructions above.
- Put your phone in airplane mode, open the recipe, and start Cook Mode. That's the whole pitch.
